Enrolling at Riverside Drive

As an Affiliated Charter School, we do not offer Open Enrollment Permits, Child Care Permits, Employee Permits, or Work Permits. Our Charter Lottery applicants will be available each year the third week of January. A Charter Lottery will be held by grade level. Space availability will vary by grade level and a priority waiting list will be established. 
We invite you to come on a school tour. Our principal, Ms. Haynes and our tour guides will tell you about our school. Please refer to our school tours section for more information.
In order to enroll a child for Kindergarten, the student must turn five years old on or before September 1, 2018. Transitional Kindergarten students must turn five by September 2nd-December 2nd 2018.
2019-2020 Enrollment
Our Lottery Application for Non-Resident Students for Fall of 2019 is January 22, 2019 - March 8, 2019. 
Step 1:

Check Your Zone

As a neighborhood school, the first priority in admission is given to students who live in its attendance area- in the Riverside Drive community of Sherman Oaks.

To find out if you are in our attendance area for enrollment, please select this link: lausd.net, enter your address, and then select the magnifying glass to determine your School of Residence.

Non-residents may apply through our charter lottery process. Applications are available January 22, 2019- March 8, 2019.  Please call the office for details at (818) 990-4525.

Charter Lottery for Non-Resident Students (Important Dates)

January 22, 2019:  Applications available in the Main Office and on our school website under the Lottery Application Tab.

March 8, 2019:  Deadline to submit applications

March 15, 2019:  Charter Lottery conducted in the School Auditorium at 8:30 am

*All students who submit a charter application will be placed on a wait list based on the result of the Charter Lottery.

Step 2: 

Pick Up A Registration Packet (Resident Students Only)

Please stop by our school office to pick up your packet and bring:

Proof of Residence

  • Escrow papers, lease agreement, official government mail or utility bill (only gas, water, or electric bills acceptable). Phone bills will not be accepted. You must bring the original document to the office to be copied. 
  • Valid Parent ID

* Non-Residents will pick up a Registration Packet once accepted through the Lottery Process.

Step 3:

Submit Your Registration Packet

Return your completed packet to our school office along with:

  • Proof of Child’s Age
    Birth Certificate (not Hospital Certificate) or Passport. You must bring the original document to the office to be copied

  • Verification of Immunizations
    A health card or printout stamped by the medical office or clinic administering the vaccines or in the form of a letter on the doctor’s or clinic’s letterhead. Follow this link for LAUSD’s immunization policy.
